Another question often asked is "do you ever create a tree that comes out better than you expected?" and the answer to that is a resounding "yes!"  

Actually working on one right now - had started it, didn't like how it was turning out and kept putting off finishing it.  Picked it back up and started to finish it....and it's turning out much better than I had originally anticipated!  

And here's an example of another.  I had been given all these "Best Teacher" charms from a retiree, and she kept asking "did you ever use those to make a tree?"  It took a solid six months to come up with an idea, and I did sketch it and outline it...then it  took another 3 months before I started working on it.  But you know what?  it came out great!  

There have only been a handful of times when I have been so disappointed on how a tree turns out that I trash it.  Usually it was because I picked the wrong color to do the background, and it didn't work with the colors in the design.  Lesson learned?  Complete the detail work first, then work in the background color.
